About UCP Labs
UCP Labs started as an internal tool. We're building Remi - an AI-powered reorder concierge that conversationally buys products on behalf of real customers - and we needed a way to know, for any merchant we connect to, exactly how far down the UCP flow we could get autonomously: search? cart? full checkout? hand-off only?
Existing validators check that a UCP profile is correctly formatted. They don't tell you whether an agent can actually buy. A store can be technically compliant and silently fail at cart creation, shipping selection, or payment. We needed something that ran the full purchase flow end-to-end.
Over time we accumulated a deep map of what breaks in practice, across hundreds of merchants and every UCP capability. We encoded that into UCP Labs - so anyone building a UCP integration can see exactly where the friction lives before going live.
